Epic Downtown Los Angeles Rooftop Engagement Shoot

Things I love: Couples who are madly in love (and also happen to have killer style), a downtown skyscraper view, sunset photos. Add them all together, and you get this epic rooftop engagement shoot in the Downtown LA Arts District from photographer Kept Record!

When Morgan PIrkle, lead photographer at Kept Record, shared this shoot with me, my jaw dropped! The photos are gorgeous, and the subtle details in each shot had me looking through the gallery again and again.

And, can you believe this is considered a May gray day here in LA? Unintentional rhyming aside, the overcast skies added more drama to this already gorgeous shoot.

Laurel and Will, both avid travelers, met and have lived their entire relationship in Los Angeles, so capturing their engagement photos in a place that holds so much meaning for them was key. And their engagement tells the story of who they are as a couple. The two are very equality-minded: Will said, "From the beginning we’ve emphasized the importance of being a team and our proposal story shows that. We’d been discussing getting married for a long time and realized the idea of me going out, getting a ring and then springing the question wasn’t us. We knew if we were going to get married we wanted to have a plan before letting the world know. So one day, over morning coffee, we stumbled upon a venue (Hotel Figueroa) that felt right and decided to pull the trigger!”
